Zürich – Rémy Schimmel has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Cembra Money Bank. He will assume this position by 1 October 2016 at the latest and will become a member of the Bank’s Management Board.

Rémy Schimmel brings a wealth of expertise for the CFO position. Since July 2010, the French national has held different key roles for Royal Bank of Scotland, since August 2014 as CFO of Coutts & Co Ltd in Zurich. He has wide-ranging experience in financial and risk management. Before joining Royal Bank of Scotland, he held positions with Lloyds Banking Group, General Electric and Kimberly-Clark in London (UK) and in Europe. The 41-year-old Rémy Schimmel holds a Master in International Trade from EICD (University of Lyon, France), a Master of Sciences in Economics from HEC Business School (University of Montreal, Canada) and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CIMA).

“Rémy Schimmel is a seasoned finance executive, and we are very happy that he has decided to join us as our new CFO”, said Robert Oudmayer, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cembra Money Bank. “With his proven track record in the finance industry, Rémy Schimmel is a valuable addition to the Management Board of Cembra Money Bank.”

Cembra Money Bank’s current CFO, Antoine Boublil, will leave the company on 31 March 2016 to assume the CFO position of the Swiss Universal Bank at Credit Suisse. He made an important contribution to Cembra Money Bank’s successful IPO in October 2013 and the positioning of the Bank as an independent player in the market thereafter.

Until Rémy Schimmel will take over his new position as CFO of Cembra Money Bank, Haldun Kuru will act as CFO ad interim for the Bank. Haldun Kuru is Head of Controllership of Cembra Money Bank since March 2011.
