Emmi mymuesli

No time for breakfast today?

Lucerne, 29 May 2018Fewer and fewer people take the time to have breakfast at home. Healthy, delicious, practical snacks are therefore becoming increasingly important. Bread and jam, which is still popular in Switzerland, struggles in this respect – but dairy products enriched with muesli do well. The experts in these areas – mymuesli and Emmi – have therefore joined forces and developed four products together. What they all have in common is that they not only taste great but also contain only organic ingredients and are low in sugar.

Around 60 % of people in Switzerland say they still regularly have breakfast at home. Nothing beats bread and jam with coffee, followed by yogurt, muesli and fruit. A good mid-morning snack is all the more important for those people who skip breakfast at home.

An all-round good mid-morning snack

A good mid-morning snack needs to be a real all-rounder. It has to make you feel full, but only until lunchtime, be healthy and taste good. A combination of milk and muesli can do all that – which is why it is so popular. There is still potential for products with modern recipes that are healthy and natural. Emmi has therefore teamed up with the successful and innovative muesli experts at German “grown-up” mymuesli. Both sides quickly discovered that the cultures in their two companies, which initially appear very different, are a good match when it comes to commitment to quality and ways of working. The decision to develop a range of products together was therefore simple.

The result is a variety of different combinations of muesli and milk to enjoy wherever you are, made from high-quality organic ingredients and no granulated sugar. The breakfast drinks are balanced blends of high-quality spelt, oats and flaxseed, milk and fruit. They are ideal to enjoy on the go. The yogurt snacks combine refreshingly tart natural yogurt with muesli – one with crisp fruity apple and cranberry granola and one with crunchy chocolate, cocoa flakes and cocoa nibs.

Local production despite cross-border collaboration

The joint mymuesli and Emmi products are available now in Switzerland from Coop. In Germany, they are sold in German retailers (EDEKA, REWE and Kaufland in selected regions), mymuesli stores and the mymuesli online shop (drinks only).

There is one big difference between the products available in Switzerland and Germany: the production location, because consumers who buy organic products often also prefer to buy regional products. mymuesli and Emmi therefore decided to further process the muesli mixes made in Germany in Switzerland and Germany. This is carried out in Emmen and at Gläserne Molkerei in Dechow – an Emmi subsidiary. The cross-border knowledge transfer within the Emmi Group means this is not a problem.

This combination shortens transport distances and ensures value creation in both countries. It also means that the products can be manufactured at German prices for the price-sensitive German market.
